Rent a Car: FAQ
Fixes for the most common Rent a Car problems, from a missing clerk to rentals that cannot be returned.
Turn on Debug first
With Debug = true, the script prints every step to the console: framework detection, clerks, rentals, payments,
keys, fuel and expiry. It is the fastest way to find a problem.
The folder must be named hype-rentacar. Rename it back and restart; the phone app also looks for this name.
qbx_core, qb-core or es_extended is not running, or hype-rentacar starts before it. Move ensure hype-rentacar
below your framework in server.cfg.
The table is not created automatically. Run INSTALL/install.sql on your database once and restart the resource.
The clerk only spawns within 50 m of the office. Check the coords of the location and the ped model. The blip
needs blip.enabled = true.
You cannot open the menu while sitting in a vehicle. With interaction = "target", ox_target or qb-target must be
running; without one, the office falls back to the [E] prompt within interactDistance.
The license check failed. On QB/QBox the player needs metadata.licences.driver = true. On ESX set
License.metadata = "drive" and make sure esx_license is installed. With check = "item" or "any", the
driver_license item works too. Set License.required = false to turn the check off.
A vehicle stands within 3 m of every spawn point of the office. Move it away or add more spawns.
No supported vehicle keys or fuel resource was found. Look for no vehicle keys resource found in the server
console, or set VehicleKeys and Fuel.system to your resource.
The vehicle must be within the office's returnRadius (default: 30 m) of the clerk to return it. Any office works,
not only the one you rented at.
With Deposit.damageDeduction = true, the refund drops with engine and body damage. If the vehicle no longer
exists, the deposit is not refunded. Expired rentals only get it back with Deposit.refundOnExpire = true.
Talk to the clerk at any office and press Respawn, or use Bring to me in the phone app. It costs
Respawn.fee and works while more than a minute is left. You can also Return it and close the rental.
No. Durations are real-time hours and keep running, also through server restarts. Rentals that ran out while the server was off are closed on the next start.
Security.cooldown (default: 5 seconds) blocks a second rent, pickup or respawn right after the first one.
A client sent a vehicle, duration, account or office that does not match the config, or acted too far from the
office. It is logged even with Debug off; set Security.logSuspicious = false to log it only in debug mode.
Add an entry to Locations or Vehicles. Use vehicles = { "blista", "panto" } on an office to offer only some
models there. A new category needs a label under ui.categories in the locale files.
Set setr ox:locale "tr" (or another code) in server.cfg. See Locales.
Download the new version, replace the folder and keep your config/config.lua. Check the
changelog for new options and database changes.
